Panama Foundation Basics

The Panama foundation is different in the sense that is combines the concept of a Family Foundation and a Mixed Foundation in Liechtenstein insofar as the heirs and other individuals can be freely mixed.

The foundation cannot be used in profit seeking enterprises, but can engage in business to maintain and increase the foundation assets. For example, the foundation can trade stocks, own rental real estate and own corporations.

All private interest foundations in Panama require a resident agent (an attorney or lawfirm). A minimum tax of 300 dollars is payable per year.

Panama Foundations have the legal right to shift the jurisdiction to a foreign country.
